John D. Newman

Sr. Vice President & General Counsel

John D. Newman, Senior Vice President and General Counsel is responsible for overseeing legal and regulatory affairs for Constitution Surgery Centers.

Prior to joining CSC, Mr. Newman practiced in health care law for over 25 years.  His practice included a particular focus on ambulatory surgery centers and their development.  Mr. Newman formerly was General Counsel for St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut.  Prior to that, Mr. Newman was a partner in the law firm of Reid & Riege in Hartford, Connecticut.

After graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University with a bachelors of arts degree in political science, Mr. Newman earned his juris doctorate degree from Duke University School of Law in 1984. He has been listed in "The Best Lawyers in America" for health care.

Mr. Newman is a member of the American and Connecticut Health Lawyers Associations, as well as the American and Connecticut Bar Associations.
